In an article in the July issue of School Reform News, “NAACP Report Says Florida Schools Are Criminalizing Schoolchildren,” we reported, “Though she said parents ‘have a role to play in discipline,’ [Monique] Dixon said they are ignorant of the system.” Upon further review of her notes, the article’s author indicates Ms. Dixon did not say this.
Also, a caption and photo accompanying the story “L.A. Parents Sue for NCLB Choice Options” in the June 2006 issue of School Reform News were incorrect. The photo depicted former Los Angeles Mayor Jim Hahn. Antonio Villaraigosa is the current mayor of Los Angeles.
