Published November 14, 2013

Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin (D) has been trying for years to impose taxes on what you purchase on the Internet. But the so-called “Marketplace Fairness Act” is neither fair or helpful to the market.

Listen in the player to your left to a recent edition of the Hearltand Daily Podcast in which Heartland’s Jim Lakely and Matthew Glans discuss Durbin’s latest scheme to bring about the destruction of the vibrant digital economy by attaching the Marketplace Fairness Act internet sales tax bill to the annual National Defense Authorization Act.

Lakely and Glans interview Ryan Radia, associate director of technology studies at the Competitive Enterprise Institute, to talk about the problems with this new tax and other tech issues.
