Patrick Wolf: To Help Young Black Men, Obama Should Stop Cutting Vouchers

Among the few cuts inside latest budget proposal from the Obama administration is the DC vouchers program. Given President Obama’s recent focus on helping needy young black men succeed, he should instead expand vouchers, if anything, says Patrick Wolf.

Wolf is a professor in the department of education reform at the University of Arkansas, and he has done several studies of voucher programs in general and the DC program in particular. His research uncovers that vouchers are among the best of ways to help needy minority kids, and one of the few that save money in the process.
