Dear Editor: Regarding “Big fuel economy face-off looming” (May 9), why should I care what my neighbor drives? If I want to buy a car that gets 35 miles per gallon, I have plenty of options already available. Instead of passing fuel economy mandates, Congress should pass a law forbidding anybody who owns a vehicle that gets less than 35 miles per gallon from griping about the issue. James M.
