The U.S. Supreme Court on the Second Amendment: What happens next?

Published August 14, 2008

The U.S. Supreme Court recently handed down its first ruling in nearly 70 years on the Second Amendment, the right to bear arms.

But what does the decision mean for gun owners across the country? What are the implications for cities with strict gun-control regulations such as Chicago, Oak Park, and San Francisco?

Please join The Heartland Institute, Independent Institute, and Chicago-Kent College of Law on Wednesday, September 10 for a policy forum as these timely issues are discussed by Stephen Halbrook, who represented more than 300 Members of Congress in the recent Supreme Court case, and Chicago-Kent College Distinguished Professor of Law Sheldon Nahmod.

The program begins at 3:00 p.m., with a reception at 4:00 p.m., at Chicago-Kent College of Law, 565 West Adams, Chicago.

Attendance is free, but reservations by September 5 are required. Please call Tonya Houston at The Heartland Institute at 312-377-4000 or send an email to [email protected].

Dr. Halbrook will be available to autograph copies of his new book, The Founders’ Second Amendment.
